Steffen Nowak, Maker of fine Violins, Violas and Cellos in baroque and modern style

Viola after Andrea Guarneri  16 ¼  (413mm).

A new Viola after Andrea Guarneri after a model from 1670 - slightly narrower then the 'Conte Vitale', more along the lines of the 'Primrose' Guarneri. Very noticeable the link to the Brothers Amati alto viola model in the proportion and flow of the outline. A two piece back of old Bosnian maple, ribs and head matching, the front of straight and even grained well seasoned Alpine spruce.
The oil varnish a warm orange brown colour.
A rich, gutsy and even sound - this Viola should suit most players. The string length is 372mm.
